This spot marks the end of the Coast to Coast Walk. The 182-mile (293 km) long-distance footpath, devised by legendary fellwalker Alfred Wainwright, takes hikers through three much-loved national parks: the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors. The finish point has plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby, as well as some cracking coastal views.
