This spot marks the end of the Coast to Coast Walk. The 182-mile (293 km) long-distance footpath, devised by legendary fellwalker Alfred Wainwright, takes hikers through three much-loved national parks: the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors. The finish point has plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby, as well as some cracking coastal views.

Even without walking the Coast to Coast Walk this is nice place to be :). Nevertheless, the Walk sounds great, would love to do this one day.
