2 years after Bosworth and the death of King Richard III, this battle resulted in a decisive victory for Henry VII, effectively ending the Wars of the Roses and securing the Tudor dynasty's hold on the English throne. The actual field is private so the walk is around it's perimeter. Also, there is an old road down to the old crossing across the river Trent to Fiskerton and has all the hallmarks of being Roman and providing a route from Southwell to the Fosse Way (A46).
