We are currently still working hard on the Melkpad that takes you through the valley here. In particular, the ponds and unnecessary traces of the former weekend accommodations are being cleaned up. There will also be new bridges over the Zwarte Beek and the Oude Beek. And three amphibious tunnels are being constructed, as you can read at vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2024/07/14/natuurherstel-melkpad-koersel-hervat-na-bouwvakantie

Cycling

The Valley of the Black River in Limburg is one of the largest and most valuable nature reserves in Flanders (over 1300 ha), managed by Natuurpunt and ANB. It offers a unique variety of marshy river valleys, heathland, and dunes, with Bezoekerscentrum De Watersnip in Beringen as the central starting point for walks. A pleasant cycle path winds through it.
