Like a fjord, the Königssee lies between towering gray rock walls. The nearly 2,000-meter-high walls are so steep that they plunge seamlessly into the water of the lake. Since there is no riverside path, the fastest and most promising way across the lake takes you through one of the excursion boats. To protect the water quality and the nature, all used boats are operated exclusively with electric motors or physical strength.

If you are already at Königssee you should also go to the Malerwinkel Rundweg. The view that one receives at this gate from Malerwinkel (Malerwinkl) over the Königssee is rightly world famous. This view is surpassed by the view from the Rabenwand lookout point. The short circular walk should have been completed despite the many visitors once, just because of the two beautiful viewpoints.
Simple hiking equipment, for the Rundweg enough solid shoes. Only for the climb to the lookout Rabenwand hiking boots are not a disadvantage.
Suitable as children and family hike.

The Königssee in the midst of the mountains is a perfect end to our hiking tour from Wimbachklamm to Königssee. The rental fee of the paddle boats amounts to 8 € per hour for 2 persons. Hours are up to 17 clock with the allocation of boats ends at 16 clock.

Fantastically beautiful lake and off the hustle and bustle at the boat dock you can also enjoy beautiful quiet moments in a great landscape. The well-known Malerwinkel leads a very beautiful circuit, which can also be celebrated in winter.

Unfortunately, the Königsee is not what it used to be 30 years ago. Bergeinsamkeit, peace and quiet you look here at weekends, or in the season in vain. The path from the parking lot to the lake is like the pedestrian zone of a big city. True crowds of tourists are drawn to the lake and St. Bartholomew.
If you want to cross the lake by boat, you must be in line for more than an hour. After a walk of several hours this is certainly no pleasure.
The whole does the beautiful landscape and mountain or lake scenery, of course, no demolition! So, if possible visit the lake outside of the season, unless you like the hustle and bustle.

The Königssee is colored with its glacier water light blue to emerald green and exudes an eerie calm, ideal for relaxing and strolling along!

For a short trip, I recommend the Malerwinkel- Rundweg. From the jetty, turn left past the boathouses and follow the signs. Passing a magnificent vantage point on the lake, the little tour ends after about 4 km at the valley station of the Jenner-Bahn.

Everyone should once go on the Königssee with the electric boat to St Bartolomee. A postcard panorama is the reward.

If you are there early, you can calmly drive over the lake or even run over it.

Gorgeous photo motive. Nice to experience - in the truest sense of the word - on a Kremser ride around Schönau am Königsee. Can you book in town.

No matter where you are at Königssee, he always gives postcards motives.
The Königssee is an elongated mountain lake in the district Berchtesgadener Land in the southeast of Bavaria and belongs to the municipality Schönau am Königssee. It lies at the eastern foot of the Watzmann and is essentially fed by the - coming from the southeastern Obersee - Saletbach. Since the Königssee is embedded between steep mountain slopes, it is described as fjord-like; It is considered one of the cleanest lakes in Germany in terms of water quality.
