Impressive panoramic view over the Haldensee and the Tannheimer valley and on the imposing Gimpel wall. After crossing the Kars between Gimpel and Rot Flüh the rocky, but well secured climb to the summit begins. Here you can watch the chamois and their climbing skills, as well as the climbers trying on the Gimpel wall.
The starting point is the hiking car park between Haller and Nesselwängle (subject to charge).
Refreshments on the ascent and descent in Gimpelhaus (gimpelhaus.at). The Gimpelhaus also offers accommodation (open in the summer months).

Nice to reach over the friedberger klettersteig. Descent is then bisserl haschy in between ...

After a short scramble passage you reach the summit. There you have an impressive view of the Alps. The view of the bullfinch is also breathtaking!

The descent in the direction of Schartschrofen is only suitable for people without vertigo.

Incredibly good tour with a great view. Chamois with young animals romp in the Kar.
Caution! July 2021 Giant mudslide on the Rote Flüh ascent slope, Jundenscharte. It must be climbed further on the meadow. A large part of the trail is gone

Wonderful view, but unfortunately also a lot going on. And ATTENTION: if you come from the Friedberg via ferrata, the descent from the Rote Flüh towards the Gimpelhaus is still equipped with one or the other Kraxel passage! (Don't unpack the sticks too early ;-))

Easily accessible summit, a short, steep section is completely secured by rope, no exposed terrain. The landscape is beautiful, many chamois, a wonderful view of the Tannheim Valley. It's worth it!

A worthwhile vantage point with a great panorama over the Tannheim Valley and a distant view of the Alps. The ascent can be done via the Friedberger Klettersteig or from Nässelwengle via the Gimpelhaus. It pays to start early, as there is really something going on here during the holiday season and on weekends.

Relatively easy to reach for sure-footed hikers, the safety devices are solid and you have to be a bit careful when it's wet or when there's snow and ice, of course, at least have Grödeln with you.
You can only climb to Schartschrofen via the Friedberg via ferrata with a via ferrata safety device and the appropriate experience. Moderately difficult but quite serious.
Great view of Gimpe and Haldensee

Good place for a little refreshment after the somewhat steep climb
