On 1 October 1886 Ponsfeld received a railway connection with the opening of the section Prüm (Eifel) -Bleialf. In the Second World War, the station was first destroyed, later rebuilt. But starting in the 1970s, passenger transport was later discontinued, as was freight traffic on the line. Today, a shunting locomotive Köf II produced by Deutz is erected as a monument along with a flat wagon at the former railway crossing. The Köf II was from 1959 to 1984 at the DB in use.

Pronsfeld is a municipality in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm with almost 1000 inhabitants.
As with many places in the strictly Roman Catholic environment, the village history is closely intertwined with church history.
To the parish church of St. Remigius and beyond, Wikipedia knows well.
