A nice place to stay.
Terrace is very inviting to have conversations at a higher level.
(You are 150 meters above sea level)
Restaurant is recommended...
The beautiful menu becomes reality on your plate and will satisfy your taste buds. Wash everything down with a local beer or a refined wine.
It doesn't have to be more...

The Hotondmolen is located on the Hotondberg on the edge of the nature reserve Hotond-Scherpenberg = the highest point of East Flanders.
Only the mill cockpit remains and it now serves as a watchtower at the sports hotel and grill 'Hotond'.
The first mention of a mill on the Hotondberg dates from 1672. The mill was probably a post mill at the time. At the beginning of the 19th century, the mill was replaced by a stone one, a so-called ground sailer. The mill has been restored several times, including in 1845 and 1911. Since 1945, the mill no longer works and has been given a tourist function.

Wander around in the old Hotondbos.
Did you know: The Hotond-Scherpenberg (45 hectares) is a largely wooded witness hill whose shape reveals what the landscape used to look like. Three million years ago the witness hills still lay like a sandbank off the coast of the shallow and tropical North Sea. Today they house a rich range of forest types and species-rich grasslands. Put on your walking shoes and climb to the highest point in East Flanders, the Hotond, or walk through the green mosaic of the Scherpenberg.
