As far as we know, this was a swimming pool, used in the 1930s, built and maintained in cooperation with the Eppenhainer country school home and the Eppenhainer Hotel Haus Rossert. The idea was to "exercise" Frankfurt schoolchildren and to boost tourism in Eppenhain. Interestingly, no wall had been built on the slope side of the basin, but the landscape and the feeding stream merged seamlessly into the structure. It opened in 1930. Unfortunately, the amount of water in the stream, which still feeds the pool, was an early problem - there was summer with ridiculous amounts of water in the pool. In addition, the bathroom got dirty very quickly through the nearby trees. Very soon there was a Second World War, and with it the final end of the swimming pool. At that time the plant was a clearing in the forest, which is difficult to imagine today. Of course, the swimming pool was not heated ..... you can imagine how refreshing the bathing experience must have been. There are copies of the opening photo in the cache to take away ... Beware of small children - risk of drowning!

Nice tip with unfortunately little information about the bathroom at the time.
