The occasion is sad because massive forest damage and the subsequent clearing of a previously densely forested area suddenly allow distant views from the ridge. But these are still impressive: you look at and over the neighboring ridges to the not so far away Feldberg. Spectacular - and not possible on every mountain in the area!
