The stone cross “Wilde Sau” is a stone memorial cross erected on a hill above the actual Rennsteig with the image of a hunter riding a sow, whom a hunting companion apparently tries to free from his uncomfortable situation by holding a spear.
This stone, set in Luther's birth year (1483), is the oldest dated stone on the Rennsteig.
