The way down from the church square was wrong - a carrying passage with great flair.

The town parish church towers far above the townscape. It has been Eggenburg's landmark from the very beginning.
With the two Romanesque east towers (12th century), the early Gothic choir (14th century) and the late Gothic nave (1491-1515), this building is a monument to local stonemasonry. Some special features: late Gothic light house, Church Fathers' pulpit, high altar 1885, side altar: Gothic Elisabeth altar (1521). Next to the church, a 13th-century ossuary reminds us of the transience of human life.
