The ruins Wolfsberg was a former high medieval Adelsburg high above the Trubachtal above the village Wolfsberg. Wolfsberg Castle was probably built around 1150 by the Edelfrei von Wolfsberg. The lords of Wolfsberg are documented with Gozpold de Wolfesperch since 1169. It can be assumed that they came from the noble-sex of those of Schönfeld-Gößweinstein.
