Groß Buchwald is a beautiful village near Bordesholm on the Eider and Drögen Eider. Fischerhof, Kluven, Ovendorfer Redder and Sahrendorf are in the municipality

A settlement in the Bronze Age is proven by archaeological finds.

The place, laid out as a Rundling, was first mentioned in 1230 and belonged to the Bordesholm Monastery from 1392.

When Albrecht von Wallenstein besieged Rendsburg in 1627, Groß Buchwald was also occupied.

I really like the great, high-quality and free e-bike charging station on the village square. Several batteries can be charged here at the same time. However, you have to bring your own charger and some time with you. But it's very good that they are here and that you can recharge your batteries here just in case.
