Shortcut to Ifentein/Hauenstein, upper part broken tarmac, lower part contains a not too long stretch of compacted gravel, which however is easily feasible with a road bike (and far less painful than the climb from Eptingen to Läufelfingen and back up to Hauenstein).

A wrongly neglected alternative at the Chilchzimmersattel, turn off directly in the direction of Hauenstein / Mittelland. Not so popular probably because of the section with marl and the asphalt surface that is no longer entirely flawless, even in the upper area, but that can be done both up and down without any problems. Even with narrow 23 tires. Good technique training.
The detour to the Mittelland is definitely worth it because of the beautiful combinations with Schafmatt in the west or via Bärenwil through the Teufelsschlucht and back into the Jura.

The direct route from the Chilchzimmersattel back to the plain, without any further hard climbs - note: partly Strada Bianche road conditions with compacted gravel, but can also be easily ridden with a racing bike!
