A bit hidden and totally unimpressive from the bottom, but if you find it up there, you will be rewarded with numerous views, some 360 °! Just fantastic!

Exciting ridge path that can also be mastered with a dog (if these steps [metal, wood, stone, plastic steps] and grid floors [elongated metal grids without cross bracing] can be created independently or in case of cases can be carried in places).

Tip: On the ridge path leads from the restaurant a quite steep (not consistently closed) stairs between the rocks. With dog it is recommended to take this route, as the ascent is usually easier (and easier on the joints;)), than the controlled descent down the stairs.

On the ridge path you always have new beautiful views. In my opinion, it is one of the longest ridge paths on the surrounding "stones."

The ridge path Rauenstein or Rauensteinweg is another part of the famous Malerweg. From the Rauensteinweg there are great views on both sides of the bastion, quarries and table mountains. The ridge path of the section offers a very wild and unspoiled but still pleasant and safe hiking experience through well-paved stairs and railings.

Almost linear you walk here from one great view to the next.
Personally, I find it much better than the Bastei.

Great view of the Bastei and over the Sächs. Switzerland to the King and Lilienstein, recommendation to go out the Rauenstein of Wehlen, as it is only slowly going through the forest and the views are then always great and in the end waiting in the rest house for a refreshment before it goes down to Rathen.

Worthwhile and a little exhausting ... Would not want to do the tour backwards .... climb Rabenstein over many steps

Great views of the Bastei, the fortress Königstein and the rear Saxon Switzerland.
Stop at the mountain restaurant Fels Rauenstein. Nice management.

Also suitable for families with children. Sometimes you have to slow down the bigger ones and possibly put the little ones in a fight, but the way is arguable.

I was really excited about Rauenstein. You have a good all-round view. The bastion is also easy to recognize. The staff was very friendly.

A very nice hike. Unfortunately, the GPS did not work well that day and caused this whirlwind at the Pudelsteinhöhle.
For the tour it is good, if you are sure of time and not too wide around your hips, because it is very narrow at a staircase.
Did the tour with my five year old daughter. On Rauenstein is also an inn, but we did not visit this.

Section of the Malerweg, which can be extended as desired and as a circular route over Weißig and back is about 12 km, abbreviations possible. The piece is particularly beautiful through the rough stones, at the end of which is a small inn, which is open from April to October.
