An absolute must, this way. Easy to walk when coming from Gaisalp. The view is fantastic.
Incidentally, the trail owes its name to the President of the Reichstag and Lord Mayor of Cologne, Max Wallraf, who was a regular guest in Oberstdorf and encouraged the construction of the path.

On the west side of the Rubihornes the Wallrafweg leads through a beautiful spruce forest towards Gaisalpe above Reichenbach. Here and there, the trees clear for a great panoramic view of Oberstdorf and the Illertal.

The Wallrafweg is an easy way to hike on the mountainside above Oberstdorf. Up to about half of the way goes uphill, the rest downhill, always overlooking the villages in the valley and the mountain panorama all around. In the morning mostly nice and shady.

Beautiful way, well developed, almost even. Again and again with great views over the valley.

Good approach, ideal connection, if you want to go back to Oberstdorf from Unteres Gaisalpsee.
