Hiking Highlight (Segment)
An absolute must, this way. Easy to walk if you are coming from Gaisalp. The view is fantastic.
Incidentally, the trail owes its name to the President of the Reichstag and Mayor of Cologne, Max Wallraf, who was a regular in Oberstdorf and suggested that the route be built.

On the west side of the Rubihornes the Wallrafweg leads through a beautiful spruce forest towards Gaisalpe above Reichenbach. Here and there, the trees clear for a great panoramic view of Oberstdorf and the Illertal.

The Wallrafweg is an easy way to hike on the mountainside above Oberstdorf. Up to about half of the way goes uphill, the rest downhill, always overlooking the villages in the valley and the mountain panorama all around. In the morning mostly nice and shady.

Beautiful way, well developed, almost even. Again and again with great views over the valley.

Very nice hiking trail from Oberstdorf below the Rubihorn along towards Rubi. Sturdy shoes make sense, but the path is easy to walk, no need for a head for heights, as the Wallraffweg is a middle path. Very good refreshment stops: The Gaisalpe mountain inn

Good approach, ideal connection, if you want to go back to Oberstdorf from Unteres Gaisalpsee.

An easy way to mostly gravel. Not really demanding.
From Oberstdorf it goes up crisply until the slope quickly flattens out so that the path takes you continuously up. About 1km before the Gaisalpe it goes 100m down again to go steeply up the Gaisalpe. The view of the valley is worth it.
