The Jeersdorfer Heide is a foundation. The area is hardly bigger than a soccer field. It is lovingly cared for every year. In the past, the heather stretched as far as the A1, so there is still a Heimathaus and a Heimatverein in Sittensen, even there the old Heidjer tradition is remembered. Today we essentially connect the heather with the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve, but there are still many smaller heather areas, including in the Rotenburg district or in the Winsen / Luhe district.
