Hiking Highlight
On the coastal path from the Cliffs of Moher towards Lahinch (red marked hiking trail) you reach Hag’s Head after about an hour. The view from here is breathtaking. In good weather you can see not only the Cliffs of Moher, but also the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. The ideal place for a break is the rustic castle ruins, which serve as very good wind protection on stormy days.

From here, the Coastal Walk continues north-east along the edge of the cliffs.

A little through the pastures you get to the southern (private) parking lot. It is quieter there.

At the moment a piece of the fence is missing, but that won't be the case forever. We were lucky and were able to take a look inside the tower.
But it's not particularly spectacular. So if the fence is completely closed again, you haven't missed much 😉

In the summer of 2017, the castle ruin was made inaccessible by a fence. In good weather, there are still nice spots to pause on the rocks around it. The view is really fantastic!

There is a small path next to Hag's head out onto the cliff. Here you have the best view. A MUST for every visitor.

Hag's Head is the southern point of the trail on the Cliffs of Moher. I recommend starting the way from here to the (overcrowded) visitor center. From there a shuttle bus returns.

If you start at the cliffs from the south, you will pass Hags Head. The ruin is unfortunately fenced, but from here you already have a good view of the cliffs.

An additional highlight was that a bride and groom gave themselves the yes-word before our eyes
