Ramsau is the village with probably the highest density of mountain guides in Bavaria and all of Germany. A real mountaineering village. So it is only logical that Ramsau applied to the German Alpine Club for the title of mountaineering village. The idea of the mountaineering villages comes from Austria, where the Austrian Alpine Club has already awarded 20 villages the mountaineering village seal of quality. A mountaineering village is dedicated to gentle tourism, promotes nature conservation, agriculture and sustainable development! In this way, the culture and traditions of the Alpine region are preserved. On September 16, 2015, Ramsau was officially recognized as Bavaria's first mountaineering village by the German Alpine Club.

Ramsau is the mountaineering village par excellence. The village offers a postcard idyll with its distinctive church. The Berchtesgadener Ache also flows through here, along which a beautiful path leads along.
