The sweaty climb is worthwhile. The home-baked cake is amazing! You're early? Then pack a piece to take away. It's worth the effort to tow the few grams more to one of the surrounding peaks. Then you have double summit pleasure ;-)
Today's Blaueishütte stands on the edge of the boiler. But not only because of the impressive view of the Hintersee. The original cabin was caught and torn down by an avalanche. You can still recognize the remains. Impressive, what a force such a slab has.

Since the beginning of the management of the hut in 1928, it has been in the hands of the Hang family from Ramsau without interruption. Due to the high frequency, it is advisable to leave early in order to avoid larger queues at the Blaueishütte. I can recommend a stop. At least a couple of meters in altitude towards the glacier should still be done, because the landscape is simply beautiful ....
