Ballyvaughan is the ideal base for hiking and touring the Burren. Very well connected to the public transport network, the place can be reached within an hour with the 350 bus from Galway, the next largest city. There is a supermarket directly opposite the Ballyvaughan bus stop, where you can get plenty of supplies. There is also a small café, a petrol station and a tourist office with sufficient maps for the region.
