The church tower of Koudekerke is the last remnant of the village of the same name. After the flood disaster of 1953, the new ring dike was built further inland, whereby the place Koudekerke the Oosterschelde was sacrificed.
From the tower you have a good view over the Oosterscheld and with a bit of luck you can watch harbor porpoises (Bruinvis).

The Plompe Toren is a late Gothic, 23 meter high tower ("gates", Dutch for tower), located directly on the south dike near Burgh-Haamstede on the Dutch island of Schouwen-Duiveland (Zeeland). The tower originally belonged to the parish church of the defunct village Koudekerke (not to be confused with the eponymous Koudekerke on Walcheren).
