Tips

The Brouwersdam is the seventh building of the Delta Works. The construction connects the islands of Goeree-Overflakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland. From the cycle path you have a beautiful view of the Grevelingenmeer and the North Sea.

About the Brouwersdam leads a very good bike path. The Brouwersdam is very popular with kite surfers and there is plenty of opportunity to watch them.

The construction of the six-kilometer-long dam began in 1962. The Seearm between Goeree-Overflakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland was here up to 30 meters deep. The Brouwersdam was completed in 1971 and is part of Rijksweg 57, also called National Road N 57. After that, another sink was brought into the dam, which also serves as a fish pass. This was completed on June 1, 1978 (Wikipedia).

Nice view of the beach with many sports facilities or to relax and swim. Guarded beach.

OK. I say - I liked the Pijlerdam much better. But: with tailwind it's fun; and I had that.
A dam is enough, there are nicer routes in NL.

The Brouwersdam is a hotspot for kite surfers, on the wide beach of the Kabbelaarsbank you can learn to beach surf or sit in the "Natural High" and have something to eat and drink or watch seals at the Brouwerssluis. In "normal" times there are open-air concerts on Brouwersdam.

In wind you can watch the surfers and kitesurfers very well. It was a really great sight.

The only connection between Goeree-Overflakkeee and Schouwen-Duiveland. If you want to see surfers and kiters in masses, this is the right place ....

Wonderful to go there by bike. 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏼🚴🏼‍♂️Great view, great asphalt and enough space to drive. If there is too much wind it can be very exhausting.
