    "... The Schönebecker Schlucht is one of three nature reserves in the Schönebeck district of Essen. It is part of a Siepental landscape, which is also called Schönebecker Schweiz.
    The protected area encompasses the forested sieve valleys of two streams that drain from west to east and which flow together in the eastern part of the area. The northern one of the streams is the eponymous Schönebecke. The two valleys are flatter in the upper, western part, in the lower part they form the namesake gorge with their steep slopes there. The area is largely surrounded by residential buildings. Further green areas are connected to the western foothills, to the east the valley continues beyond the Heißener Straße in the terrace cemetery.
    There are several walks through the area, but they do not follow the streams but cross them ... "
