Road Cycling Highlight
Bruneck was the only city in South Tyrol to be named after its founder, Prince-Bishop Bruno von Kirchberg. Located at the mouth of the Ahr in the Rienz, Bruneck was first mentioned in records in 1256 after Christ. Ideally located for holidaymakers in both summer and winter, the Reischach fraction (940 to 990 meters) is located near Bruneck, and behind it is the Kronplatz (2,275 meters), the northernmost peak in the Dolomites.
