The fortified castle of Bouillon, which stands on three rocky peaks and overlooks the Semois and the state, is considered, with its maze of corridors and immense vaulted rooms, to be the first and most interesting vestige of feudalism in Belgium.
The origins of the first fortifications date back to the 8th century.
