First mentioned in 1303, 1325 owned by the "Sankt Spiritus" Perleberg hospital. 1843 Conversion to a mill with four American-style grinding steps. 1883 Construction of an outdoor lock near the mill.
June 1930 the mill burns down completely. 1938 reconstruction by the city of Perleberg as an excursion restaurant. 1950 another fire. In 1994 the Neue Mühle was closed and sold. 1996 reopening after renovation. Today it is used as a restaurant, apartment rental, motorhome parking space and Stepenitz-Kahnfarten with two original Spreewald barges.
