Rides well on gravel bike, mix of hardpacked gravel and embeded stones with a few sections of looser gravel (but not as loose as the section immediately south of Brushes). Take care on paved descent to Carrbrook (if heading north) - there are often horse riders about there. Great views up the valley and across to Alphin Pike. Part of the Pennine Bridleway and the Tame Valley Loop, so you know you're onto a good thing!
