The airport Berlin-Tempelhof was one of the first commercial airports in Germany and took up the regular service in 1923. It was until its closure on 30 October 2008, Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld one of three international airports in the Greater Berlin.
Since 2010 the Tempelhofer Feld has been a popular destination for athletes of all kinds of sports, families and event organizers.

Until its closure on October 30, 2008 [4] it was one of Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld three international airports in the greater Berlin area and was called the Central Airport. ✈🦗 Today (not only) sports enthusiasts meet here: from cyclists to inline skaters to hang gliders and sometimes racing cars.
There are two dog run areas (bring water !!!) on the premises, as well as motley allotments.

On behalf of the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing of the State of Berlin, a team of around 80 people carried out the planning, renovation, maintenance, operation and gradual development of the airport in accordance with the requirements of the monument.
