The Bismarck Tower was built in 1915 in honor of the first German Chancellor, Otto von Bismarck. The 28 meter high tower can be climbed and you can enjoy a wonderful view - on a clear day even as far as Berlin. In the Bismarckschenke located southwest of the tower you can treat yourself to a little refreshment.

240 towers were built worldwide in honor of Bismarck. Of these, 172 have survived.

About a kilometer northeast of Burg im Spreewald, the historically interesting Schlossberg rises above the plain. At this point, a 27 meter high tower was built between 1915 and 1917.

This created a lookout tower that allows a wide view of the unique landscape of the Burger Spreewald. On the other hand, this building is a testimony to the Bismarck monument movement, which left traces all over Germany after the death of the first German Chancellor Otto Graf von Bismarck in 1898.

The tower still has an eventful history. Until the beginning of the Second World War, thousands of visitors climbed the tower. During the war it served as an observation point for the Air Force. In 1951 it was renamed the "Tower of Youth", and since autumn 1990 the tower has been called Bismarck Tower again.
