Altweidelbach is a beautiful little place, the truly ancient linden tree at the evangelical church is impressive. The Simmersee Domain Tour is pleasant to walk and the right thing to relax.

Of all the buildings in the village, the Evangelical Church with the old village linden tree in front of it is particularly striking. This linden tree was so badly damaged by a lightning strike that it now stands in front of us, almost in half, with the trunk open to the west. It is known that the linden tree played an important role in the folk customs of the Germans. She was the place of court and femeort. Festivals, meetings and weddings were preferably held under the village linden trees. There is some evidence that the area around the Altweidelbacher Linde was once used as a Germanic place of justice.
