The climb from the loch to the summit is the best and most rewarding part of the walk. After the long walk in this is your reward

When you get your first glimpse of Loch a' Choire Dubh, if you look straight ahead, you can make out the path that climbs up the middle of the saddle of both peaks.
Follow the path around the loch to the right and then it should become more obvious where you are heading.

With the loch now behind you, here comes the hard part, the ascent is short and sharp so prepare yourself for a real calf burner.

On the ascent , don't forget to stop, take a breather and take all the breath-taking views behind you, Canisp looks amazing from the saddle.

When you reach the Summit you will soon see why so many people fall in love with this iconic mountain.

They don't call it the hypnotic mountain for nothing.

      Enjoy!

The views are incredible from these two Lochs and they are the perfect place for a lunch stop (and potentially a swim) either on route or returning from the Suilven summit
