Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
The approximately 7 km long Süggelbach ensteht from source streams in Brecht and Kemminghausen and flows into Lünen in the Seseke. Mining was the Süggelbach over the years expanded in several sections. In addition to its natural tributaries, it also led sewage out of canalized areas. Prerequisite for the ecological improvement of the village stream, the Süggelbach and the Mahlbach mouth is the separate wastewater transfer. Wastewater transfer and rainwater treatment was started in 1990 with the construction of sewers and rainwater treatment plants. From 1997, all the wastewater from the catchment area of the Süggelbachs now flows in a pipeline to the Lünen-Sesekemündung sewage treatment plant. Regardless, clean surface water flows through the Süggelbachs system.
