Stiftsgården has been the residence of the Norwegian king in Trondheim since 1906. It is also one of the largest wooden houses in Scandinavia and is surrounded by a park. It was built between 1774 and 1778 as a private apartment for the Privy Councilor Cecilie Christine Schøller.
