From a cultural and historical perspective, this bike tour is exciting, as it leads over and along the former zone border several times and border fortifications can also be experienced here. A route, alternating over short forest stretches and again and again open land, allows many, wide views. It is named after the Point India observation tower on the Sohlberg. It is the relic of a large US military base (OP-India), built in 1984.

On the Heldrastein there is an observation tower, the tower of unity. Border information is reminiscent of the former inner-German border. Wonderful views of the Hessian and Thuringian Werra valleys, in good weather all the way to the Harz Mountains, delight every cyclist here.
