The Betlem hermitage is in one of the quietest areas of Mallorca, located on a balcony with spectacular views and open to the nearby bay of Alcúdia. To get to the hermitage, you have to walk along a beautiful path surrounded by cypress trees. From here, you can access many hiking routes.

Those who come by car 🚗 (red Cinquecento Cabrio 😀) have an adventurous journey on the last few kilometers: Narrow serpentines on steep roads, which usually do not allow two cars in oncoming traffic, you have to expect sheep and goats on the road, cyclists in the Oncoming traffic poses an additional challenge. There are only a few parking spaces at the destination.

The land for the hermitage was donated to the monks of the Congregació Sant Paul i Sant Antoni in 1805, and in 2010 the last monks retired due to old age.

The small church is open despite its remote location. A picture of Jesus' nativity scene is shown on the altar. If you go behind the church, a fantastic view of the Bay of Alcúida opens up.

A short walk from the car park leads to a spring, the Font de s'Ermita.

The town can be easily reached on foot from the coast from Betlem. A path is also signposted from the parking lot of the nature park.

The hermitage was built in 1805 on the ruins of the former Arab estate known as Alqueria Binialgorfa. It was given to the monks by the then landowners on the condition that they name it after the birthplace of Jesus. The beautiful frescoes on the ceiling are worth seeing.

The parking lot makes this place a suitable starting or ending point for a hike.
