The Basel Minster is one of the main sights and a landmark of the city of Basel. With its red sandstone design and colorful roof tiles, its two slender church towers and the cross-intersecting main roofs, the cathedral shapes the cityscape. The former episcopal church, now evangelical reformed, was built between 1019 and 1500 in the Romanesque and Gothic style.
In front of the Basel Münster is the Münsterplatz named after him, which is lined by many former cathedral mansions.
