Bike Touring Highlight
If you do not know it, you can imagine it before he or she has experienced it with your own eyes. The city is built on several hills. And they all bear the name ... berg in their name: Kohlenberg, Spalenberg, Münsterberg uwm. All these hills are located south of the Rhine, while the northern part of the city on the Kleinbasler side is rather flat. But if you want to see something of the city, you should take the time to climb the hills of Basel.
After Zurich and Geneva, Basel is the third largest city in Switzerland with 175,113 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2015)

Drinking water everywhere! Big fountains and small dispensers. The cyclist is happy in the heat. A bath in the Rhine is also possible free of charge and is used by thousands on hot days. A well-closed Ortlieb roller bag serves as a garment bag.

Driving on the Rhine Cycle Path on the northern bank you have a wonderful view of the city with its cathedral. The bike path leads along a beautifully landscaped promenade directly on the banks of the Rhine. You drive a short distance through the park of the "Tinguely Museum"
