"Not far from this point, the Rüscheid Beautification Association built an approximately 10 m high observation tower in 1927. It served as an attraction for the spa guests staying in Rüscheid.
At the end of the war year 1944, the tower was laid down by the V2 unit stationed here. This Wehrmacht unit was responsible for monitoring radio signals from the V2 rockets fired in the Westerwald.
With the offer of new hiking trails, the idea matured to offer both locals and hiking guests the opportunity to let their gaze wander into the distance of our western forest low mountain range by building a viewing platform.
In good weather conditions, the Große Feldberg im Taunus, 70 km away as the crow flies, can be seen.
Built: October 2015
Height of base: 375 m above sea level
Client: Rüscheid local authority "
