On Pentecost Sunday there was another big tour with the best weather:First we went via Raubach and Daufenbach through the beautiful Grenzbach valley towards Wied to Döttesfeld. From there, always along the Wied to Neustadt / Wied. From there it went on through the Wiedtal via Waldbreitbach to Niederbreitbach. From Niederbreitbach it went uphill through the beautiful Fockenbach valley to the Fockenbacher mill. From there, a steep climb up the Reformation path to the Gierendhöhe and probably the highest point on the route. The rest of the time went slightly uphill and downhill via Urbach and again Raubach back to the starting point in Hanroth.Despite the public holiday and the best weather, there was relatively little activity on the Wiedweg: all the better for cycling.Unfortunately, kommot crashed in between. The tour continued, I finally assigned the photos to the tour, but they were missing in the upload with the positioning. Therefore I added the pictures "just like that" for the tour.

First small round after the inspection:
The bike is running - everything is fine again! The small trial tour led me back over a slightly larger loop to the scene: my bicycle hand:Cycling Mertens in Fluterchen.First we went up to Steimel and from there towards Ratzert. From there it is not far via Stürzelbach to Fluterchen (near Altenkirchen). Then we went back on a beautiful bike path to Oberwambach and before there on familiar routes through the forest back home. All in all an already to be driven lap with new routes again.

Today "Great Sunday Round" through the Westerwald. It started in Hanroth as always. Past the Marother See and Herschbach we went to the first stage to Hartenfels Castle. From there it is not far to the Dreifeld pond, which was well attended today on Sunday. Nevertheless, it was worth it to drive the beautiful loop around the pond: always great! From the Dreifelder pond it went over the mountain to Hachenburg and past the castle into the park.Continue past the Nister mill to the Marienstatt abbey, which is picturesquely situated on the Nister. From there it went along a piece of the nest and finally in a large arch over Hattert back to Hanroth.

A small but nice round in the Grenzbach valley. It started in Hanroth as always. First via Raubach up to Urbach and from there to Linkenbach. In Linkenbach it goes first along the beautifully situated pond and then turns onto the forest path to the Grenzbach valley: simply beautiful!Back from the Grenzbach valley we went to Daufenbach and from there via Puderbach to Raubach. Then the usual last kilometers up the hill to Hanroth.

I had the tour on my agenda for a long time and today it should finally be.So I loaded my bike piggyback on the car - wheel carrier for the towbar - and drove to the starting point in Lahnstein. There you can - at least on Sundays and public holidays - park well at the market place.First we went over the Lahn and with a view of Stolzenfels Castle along the Rhine up to Braubach to the imposing Marksburg. Then the path leads a bit over the country road and flows behind Braubach quite quickly, though not clearly visible on the left hand side onto the old railway embankment B2 and B3. It is always uphill but wonderful to drive; at least in the beginning. Later it goes a lot uphill. Then it went a bit crisscross to Nassau an der Lahn. And from there, always along the Lahn via Bad Ems back to Lahnstein. In Nassau, I made the mistake of not following the actual Lahn Cycle Path, but riding right along the Lahn. At first this is very good, but later you end up on the country road and have to cycle a good distance there.Overall, a great round with many sights and great views of the landscape of the Westerwald.

First we went on known paths via Raubach up to Dernbach. Then on winding paths to the beautifully situated Veltins pond. From there past the Thalhauser mill, which has reopened up to Kleinmaischeid and the Stebach pond. Then before Deesen take the A3 towards Marienhausen. The conclusion past the Marother See is almost something like a house route.Overall, a little more than 50km at 670 meters of altitude. The route is consistently very good and pleasant to drive. Simply recommended.

Today it should be a tour without any major challenges.First we went on smooth bike paths and a beautiful single trail through the forest up to Dernbach. Then almost endlessly slightly downhill through the beautiful and tranquil Urbachtal, on to the Aubachsee. Despite the nice weather, there weren't that many people around today. Then we went back through the no less beautiful Aubach Valley to Urbach and from there via Raubach back to Hanroth. The weather was great: the sun is shining, no wind, pleasant bike temperatures: great!

A nice round today to and around Welkenbach.
I tried out one or the other new way. Overall, the tour is very nice and fluid to drive. There are mainly great forest and dirt roads, some sections are paved.I will certainly ride this route a few more times.

It was worth it.
In this nice weather I was able to enjoy a great round in the Grenzbach valley and a little "refueling". Today I largely had the forest to myself again.
From time to time I should cycle through the area more often during the week. Since it is much quieter.
