From here you have a fantastic panoramic view. The "castle window" is a popular photo opportunity! The ruins of the Ringelstein castle lie above the valley on a ridge and today belong to the area of Harth. In the ruins of the castle you can visit the remains of the castle built by the noblemen of Büren around 1390. In the Thirty Years' War, this castle was the scene of numerous witch trials. So 55 people were sentenced between December 1630 and April 1631 as alleged witches and executed. Testimonies of these processes can be found in the Hexenkeller belonging to the castle ruin. Since December 2005 extensive excavations have taken place in the facility, which continue.
