The Via Dolorosa (Latin: Leidensweg, Arabic طريق الآلام tariq al-alam) is a processional path in Jerusalem named after the Passion of Jesus of Nazareth, which you can walk along to experience biblical history. It leads from the Lion Gate to 14 stations, starting at the official residence of Pilate (now the Omarija School) and ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which stands in the place where Jesus was buried.
The Via Dolorosa is actually a Catholic processional path, but is also committed by other Christians. All churches and chapels marking the first nine stations are Catholic and belong either to the Roman Catholic or to a church united with Rome. The last five stations are located in the Basilica of the Tomb and Resurrection Church.
