The Deininghauser Bach is an approx. 10 km long watercourse that drains an approx. 20 square kilometers large catchment area in Castrop-Rauxel and flows into the Landwehrbach or into the Emscher. It arises from several sources in the vicinity of the former Graf Schwerin colliery, today's Schwerin dump. The drainage, which is stable at around 30 liters per second even in dry conditions, is more salty than other streams due to the overburden rock.
