Due to its favorable location in the Danube valley with the connection to the Waldviertel, Spitz has been the ideal place for trade and industry for centuries. Especially wine and apricots still bring the money to the locals. They are also best here!

Spitz an der Donau, ideally located in the Danube Valley, has been a trading center for centuries and is famous for its first-class wines and apricots. The town is easily accessible by train or bus, with hourly connections via Weißenkirchen in der Wachau to Krems and in the opposite direction to Melk. Enjoy a hike through the idyllic vineyards and then stop off at one of the cozy wine taverns to sample the regional delicacies.
