The fortified church in Weissenkirchen towers above the picturesque lanes lined with old vintners' houses and townhouses. Romance and beauty make this place a truly special experience. Nestled in the Danube landscape, surrounded by the foothills of the Waldviertel plateau and the Dunkelsteinerwald forest, the market town is a true gem.

With 500 hectares of vineyards, it is also the heart of Wachau winegrowing and Lower Austria's wine culture.

Here you can enjoy leisurely walks through the vineyards and explore the winegrowing villages by bicycle.
