Montozzo Pass

The gravel road is easy to drive up high, except for the last 100m. One of the most amazing panoramas I have seen on the descent in my life. Surrounded by alpine roses, the trail winds down in serpentines, always with a view of the green reservoir surrounded by steep mountain peaks.

At the Forcellina di Montozzo or Montozzo-Scharte there is still a trench from the First World War. Also a plaque is placed here.

Also an Alpine cross classic is the crossing of the Montozzo-Scharte (Forcellina the Montozzo). The ideal direction is from Pezzo towards Peio. The path is relatively easy to drive to the lovely village of Case di Viso at 1,753 meters. After that, the climb becomes a bit more difficult. But the hammer comes only after the Rifugio Bozzi. On the sun terrace you can gather more strength and watch the other bikers tormenting themselves up the ramp. Here's the motto: pushing is no shame.
On the Scharte, 2,613 meters, you can still find trenches and relics from the First World War - historical ground so.
What comes next you can confidently call a top trail. On this descent to the Lago Pian Palu you destroy a good 1,000 meters in altitude, whereby the singletrack in the upper area is easier to navigate and down to the requirements of the single trail scale of S1 in places S3 rise.
Attention: From 2016 there is a new route for the lower part of the lake.
