In the vicinity of the Wupper in the middle of the forest lies the "Haus Forst". The art and culture center, which is open to the public today, has a history of almost 700 years. Built around the 11th century, the building initially served as a classic knight's castle. Three centuries later, the castle was converted into a monastery and later, after a fire in 1795, used as a mansion until the 19th century. After World War II the painter Werner Peiner lived and worked here until the 80s. Even today you can admire his works here.
