Technically a lane, but quite gravelly. Go in April when the garlic is out, you see why, its beautiful, the whole climb (heading north) is surrounded by an open wood with floor carpet of garlic.

Quiet back lane alternative to Bannerdown. Surface is rough in places but generally can find a smooth route up with some wiggling. The gradient is gentle for the majority of the climb with some false flat and downhill sections. The end of the climb joining onto Ashwicke road (next to Rocks East) ramps up to 15%!

Absolutely wonderful. I'd rather go up it than down it... the road surface isn't the greatest and I value my fillings too much! Still, doing the climb gives you time to take in the truly beautiful scenery and the tranquility, I doubt you'll meet anyone! The climb gets gradually steeper as you near the top, but I'd say it's easier than Bannerdown and aside from the road surface, far more enjoyable.

An absolute brute on a wet winter day. Poor surface, steep gradient and plenty of debris!
