The Cross of Honor was erected in 1952 by the Heimat- und Verkehrsverein. The initiative came from former soldiers who wanted to remember the victims of the Second World War. The cross was renewed in 2004. Seating groups and a hiking lounger invite you to linger.
The cross was erected at a point from which one has a wonderful view. To the south the view goes over the excellent Nackenheimer vineyard location "Rothenberg" to Nierstein. The spire of the Katharinenkirche in Oppenheim just rises above the trees at the former Oppenheim quarry.
