Many paths lead to the Grünten. The sunrise here and at the nearby Jägerdenkmal is unique due to the exposed location. For this we recommend the fast ascent from the Alpe Kammeregg (free parking space just below the Alpe, toll-free) over the Grünten hut to the monument. On the south-east side, the gourmet tour takes you from Berggasthof Alpenblick via the Schwandalpe (try cheese bread) to Grüntenhaus and on to the summit.

Refreshments south side: Schwandalpe, Grüntenhaus, Berggasthof Alpenblick, Alpe Weiherle
Refreshments north side: Grüntenhütte, Alpe Kammeregg

Our favorite is a round trip from the parking Alpenblick on the Schwandalpe to the transmitter, then on to the Grüntendenkmal and back over the Rossbergalpe and the "Old Rossbergweg" back to the parking Alpenblick ...

As an alternative you can drive from the parking lot "Großer Wald" behind Wertach by bike via "Drei Angel Hütte" and "Knappenhock" to "Königssträssle" and from there to Rossalpe. Leave the wheel there and climb up to Grünten. Return via transmitter and Schwandalpe to Rossbergalpe.

Very nice view to Immenstadt and the surrounding countryside of the Allgäu.
Due to its striking location directly on the edge of the Alps, the Grünten bears the surname Guardian of the Allgäu. Its main summit is called Übelhorn. On the summit region there is a Gebirgsjägerdenkmal and the transmitter Grünten, whose tower is visible from afar. On the mountain slopes are the Grüntenhaus and the Grüntenhütte. Up the cable car Grünten.
